I’m Austin R. Snider. I’m a creator working with my assistants to promote independent NC artisans and share interesting products and services from all over the world with our friends and guests. Information Collected

Comments, Reviews, Form Submissions and other User Content

When visitors use the sites to post comments, reviews, messages or any other media on any of the sites, or enteres data into a contact form (“User Content”, as specified in the Terms and Conditions) we collect all data shown in the upload forms, as well as the visitor’s IP address, browser user agent string and other technical information to help spam detection, prevent abuse and improve the services.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

User Content provided in direct contact forms may be saved indefinitely to help with spam detection, prevent abuse and improve the services.

Media

Digital files often contain data within them providing information about the principal data in the file (called metadata.) If you upload any media or other User Content to our sites for other users to engage with, you must avoid uploading images with sensitive metadata, including personally identifiable information (PII) such as email addresses, physical addresses, tax ID numbers, embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website have the ability to download and extract any data from files hosted and displayed on the website, and neither I nor any of my assistants shall be liable for securing the metadata of files or any other risks associated with files uploaded by users, which we retain full rights to remove and moderate for the safety of all my site users.

Cookies

If you leave a comment or complete a contact form on our sites you may have the ability to opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit (any of) our login page(s), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded solutions and content from other websites

We use technology vendors solutions embedded in some of our sites to facilitate particular functions. For instance, on shop.arsnider.com, we use a third-party payment gateway vendor (Stripe) and an eCommerce platform vendor (WooCommerce) to host products and process personally identifiable information (PII) and financial information such as credit card information.

Articles on this site may also include other embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Some orders on shop.arsnider.com are fulfilled by third-party fulfillment vendors. In such cases, we share the necessary order information with our vendors to complete those orders. We only share necessary information and solely for the purposes of fulfilling orders placed by you.

Any usable form fields that collect User Information or User Content containing data relevent to spam detection and preventing abuse is immediately forwarded to our third-party security service provider prior to posting or sending for the sole purpose of preventing spam, preventing abuse and preserving/improving the services.

Certain User Information entered on this website is never stored on this website, but is stored with our trusted third-party technology vendors by means of their integrations with our sites. This is for your security and convenience.

Aside from cases listed above; we do not share your User Information or personal data with third parties.

How long we retain your data

If you upload any comments, reviews, media or other User Content (as defined in the site Terms and Conditions), the User Content and its metadata are retained indefinitely unless otherwise prohibited by law. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

If you place an order on shop.arsnider.com that is fulfilled by third-party vendors, we must share the necessary order information with our vendors to complete the order.

Data from contact forms is directed to an appropriate email inbox for us to process the requests of end users.
